I Did It! (Finally)

Yes, finally. After a little over 3 years: ding PLD75! As I've said many times, it was the job I bought FFXI to play. And the first advanced job I unlocked, and only the third job I ever played at the time (WAR and MNK were leveled as sub and a sub to a sub). Got it in a late night party last night, as well as 2 merits. The only downside was that it was a level sync pt so it went immediately to merit points mode. I have a buffer of 7. Campaign today before work will change that.

I still can't believe I finally got 75. I thought I never would. That makes #7 for me.

So lately I've been unable to really play the game even a fraction of the amount I used to. Long (and awkward) hours at work, plus living with someone who has no understanding or interest in the game means there's very little time for ffxi. The only time I can really get anything done is on a day off during the week. It also means I basically can never really take part in anything going on in the LS. And the less I am able to take part in, the more I feel like I don't really fit in anymore. I've been retiring jobs left and right because I just don't have time to do anything with them, nevermind the fact that all the good stuff for them is from ZNMs which I have neither the time to farm zeni nor the consistent availability late Saturday night to pop them. Now they're doing sky mobs. More stuff I would love to be able to get, but again, no time. I dunno. I haven't really been saying much in LS, just keep to myself and mess around with some mage jobs from time to time.

Back (sort of)

After a (longer than it seemed) two week or so break from ffxi due to moving and not having internet, I'm back in limited availability. I'm not sure how available I will ever be though. My work schedule so far sucks. But even if it didn't, it's a lot easier to play this game when you're not living with someone who has no interest in it. So I've taken what few opportunities I've had so far, and been leveling PLD in campaign. I finally dinged 74 the other day, and will be working on 75 whenever I can. I've decided to put SAM away for an unknown period of time. I don't really have time to seek and do merits right now.

So Much For Going Slow

Since I dinged SAM75 on Friday, I've put 5/8 merits into GK and 2/5 into Store TP. I've also managed to acquire a Hagun, thanks in large part to all the meriting I did this week. Overnight imperial currency bazaar ftw. Must have sold close to 70 gold pieces in only a few hours. And since my Onimaru sold, I'm not completely broke. Didn't get fumas to drop in Copycat on Sunday. But some money drops instead. No complaints here. Maybe fumas next time.

I'm having a lot of fun with SAM, but for some reason I got crap for it. I was asked what happened to PLD. My response was that there are already way too many PLD in the shell as is. And it's true. There have been quite a lot of people leveling it all of a sudden. Then I was told if I wanted to level a job the LS needs then RDM is always wanted. Yeah ok. I could maybe get by without a Joytoy on PLD. A lot more harder to do on RDM, especially if I wanted to do more than just be merit Refresh/Haste whore. I do a lot of things on my own, due to me not having the time nor the popularity to get groups going. So having the right tools for the job (solo gear) would be an important factor for me. Solo RDM without Joytoy? No thanks.

Getting Close

Today our CoP static did missions 8-1 and 8-2, getting our Tavnazia Rings in the process. Yay for one more 24 hour warp. I usually have to carry multiple warp cudgels. Not so much anymore. Also managed to get a few more BLU spells during the missions. Learned Actinic Burst and Reactor Cool. Now we're on a break from static for a few weeks, due to scheduling conflicts. During that time, I'm going to have to figure out how to solo the Elvaan tower part of 8-3. And soon after that...Rajas Ring. Yeah, definitely need some Rajas for my BLU and especially for my SAM.

Speaking of SAM, I dinged 75 on Friday. I have a disgusting amount of merits I need to put into the job, but I'm going to go slow so I don't burn out like I do sometimes. Plus I need to keep saving for Hagun. I'm close to a mil now, only 1.5 more to go. Tonight we're doing some Copycat runs. I need money drops and a free pair of Fuma Sune-Ates. After that it's a wait for Mog Bonanza to end so the price of Dusk Gloves goes down due to everyone winning Behemoth Hides like they did last year.

Samurai?

Yeah, I've been messing around with SAM this week. Managed to get from 66-68 in a few days, and then (thanks to Anniversary Ring which is now gone) I got 68-73 in 2 nights. It's fun, and it can only get better once I ding 75 and can use all my other gear for it. Now I just need to find a way to get a hold of 2.5 mil so I can buy a Hagun. Like that's going to happen. But I can dream can't I?

I got 74 in a rush-before-maintenaince pt at the bird camp. Got to finally test out my Tomoe. It's fun. Lots of fun. Now to wait for servers to get back up, so I can start working on getting the rest of the WS points I need to unlock my trial GK.

Ding

I finally dinged 75 on my BLU the other night. It took a very long party to do so, but I stuck with it. It was a Level Sync party however, so as soon as I got 75 I was unable to switch to exp mode to work on a buffer. A short trip to campaign the next morning fixed that, and eating a R1 after dying to Eyes On Me in Copycat KSNM pretty much negated the fix. Anyways, 1/2 of my "almost @ 75" jobs are now there. All that's left is PLD. I'm 13k till 74

Our CoP static got Sea last Sunday. We attempted to low man the Aern NMs for our Tavnazian Ring, but none of our sleeps were sticking so we wiped on the first set after only taking out 1/3 of the NMs. We'll get them Sunday hopefully, schedule permitting. Now that I have Sea, I have access to a few more BLU spells. I managed to get Disseverment within the first half dozen or so Aerns and that's my new favorite spell. There's a couple more I need further inside once I get access so that my Auto-Refresh trait is using the least amount of spell points. It also means I have access to Limbus. Access, but not availability. So I'm stuck going the expensive route and buying all my Ancient Beastcoins. And there are a lot of them I need to get. Both my jobs could benefit from a Loquacious Earring, and a Brutal Earring would be very nice for my BLU, and not bad for PLD. So now I need to figure out which earring will benefit me the most right now. I don't have enough money for both, as I also need to pick up a Cerb Mantle for (ironically enough) roughly the same price as 75 beastcoins. I'm thinking Brutal, especially since my PLD isn't even 75 yet. It would also help my gimp ass COR with melee in between slugs. I was hoping for a better payout with Copycat so I wouldn't even have to think about this, but my orb wasn't the money run.
